Life!
I regret to report that my beloved Mother in Law passed away on Thursday, April 19. She was a strong wonderful Loving Mom. She had a very good life, she was strong, independent, loving and sometimes stubborn Mom. She enjoyed life to the end, she would have celebrated her 100th birthday July 10, 2012.

Starting the Knitting and Writing Together
I seached my stash, found some Worsted Weight Yarn (Patons Canadiana) and now am ready to do the hard part ------
The green yarn is for the Crochet Chain to start the Provisional Cast On.
There are several different ways to do Provisional Cast On ---- The Crochet Chain is my fav but if you prefer some other tech then it will work for you. Check the web sites, there are many ways to do it both in written instructions and videos. I am going to write the crochet chain cast on method in the pattern.

Progress
I have finished the initial pullover now I can write, edit, re-write, edit, re-write, etc, etc, etc.
Callum is on the drying towel and I am anxious to start writing the actual pattern. That is what I do, I knit from my head, frog it, knit it, frog it, knit it, frog it until I like what I see. Then I write it, knit it, frog it, write it, knit it, frog it, edit it, correct it, test knit it again in several sizes, then I post it on Patternfish.com.
When I get some more yarn, I need more yarn like I need a hole in my head, then I will begin the process. When I am working the pattern I will post step by step progress reports. This one has a Provisional Cast-On neckband so it will need some careful instructions, but in the end the neck will be much more flexible when pulling it over the head and will fit better when it is being worn as there won't be a tightening cast-on edge.
Keep in touch. MommaBearKnits and Designs for Babies and more.

Preemie Compared Three 3 Month Size
Just a thought: The Pretty Little Preemie Pattern #12-010 that was recently released does not display just how small a Preemie Cardigan is: So I took a picture of the smallest size Preemie (4 lb/1.75kg) laying on top of a 0 - 3 Month size cardigan. There is a big difference but Preemies are in need of cardigans just like the full term babies.

Cabled Pullover Progress Report
The initial sample is coming along. I have started working the sleeves. The pattern will likely be a little simpler to accommodate the sizes.
It does help that it is the only project on my needles at the present time. When I finish the initial sample then I can sit down and start writing the pattern while knitting another sample concentrating on each section with details for the changes in the sizes. Not sure yet, how many sizes, hopefully 2 - 12 yrs.

Progress Report
Progress: I have worked past the underarm and started working the body. Still a lot of work as this is the first sample, still have to write the pattern in detail allowing for all sizes. A lot of work ahead but I love knitting and designing for babies and toddlers.
I am now working on the body in the round. Yes it is multidirectional, but also goes Round & Round.
This sample has a cable running down the side where there is usually a seam, oh yeah, no seams in my work!! Hope I can keep it worked in the numbers for all the sizes. We will see how that works out soon.
In the meantime MommaBearKnits and Designs day and night.

Cable Pullover Progress
I am making progress. Not sure yet how it will work for all the sizes but I think I have solved a few problems.
I LOVE MULTI-DIRECTIONAL NO-SEW KNITTING!!!!! It is especially fun when you combine the two.

Cabled Pullover
Well I had to frog it and start over, too many cable patterns and it was a little awkward to adjust the numbers for the sizes. I have now decided that the sizes will be 2 - 12.
Frogged this one:

Keep in touch, I will post the progress, I hope it won't be another frogging.

Pattern has gone to Patternfish
I changed the picture slightly, and up loaded it today. It will likely be available on Patternfish sometime tomorrow. I have really been honouring my pledge yesterday and today, hopefully it will keep on down the road.
Front Page of Pattern - Ready to Go
I will finish reading it for the last time today and post it by this evening. MommaBearKnits on into the future.
Pretty Little Preemie
The Preemie pattern is ready to go. Just need to place the pictures on the cover of the pattern, read it one more time, and then off to Patternfish. Happy April Fool's Day. This post is not a prank, it really is going up on Patternfish later today, so it likely will be available within 24 hours from this posting. The pattern is in 4 sizes ranging from 4 to 7 lbs. Tiny Preemie to a tiny full term Baby.
