Back On Track!!!

It is New Year's Eve but I am getting back on track before New Year's Day.
I picked up the Pullover that is on the needles and am knitting it.
Hope 2013 is a good year.
When I finish the pullover, I will get on with my next project,
hopefully it will be a Little Baby Girl's Dress, but I never know for sure.

MommaBearKnits all the time, every day, every hour, early morning and late at night, because I love it!!!!!

Busy Time - Just Knitting Socks most of the Time

Yes, I am still working on the Blue Child's Pullover, but this busy time of year kind of makes me just Knit Socks, as they don't need much concentration.   I have been knitting socks for almost 60 years in all sizes and all weights of yarn from fine fingering to worsted weight work socks.  I will get back on the Pullover Pattern in the New Year.  I usually don't work the self patterning yarn socks identical, but because the colours were so obvious, I did this time.  Hope callum likes them.

Worked in Patons Kroy - Callum will love them, I hope.
MommaBearKnits on into the future, hopefully for a lot more years.

Changed the Yarn

I have decided to change the colour of the yarn to a solid shade instead of the Beige Tweed look.  I love the beige yarn and will finish the pullover but will not include in in the Pattern pictures.  The pattern will show up better in the solid colour and besides I am a Denim Kook.

MommaBearKnits Forever!!!!

29 November, 2012

I have been a little slow working this pattern.  I am seriously considering working in it a solid colour so the pictures will work better and the body pattern will stand out better.  That means I have to start again.  Oh Well, that is what I do, I knit every day, all day, and on into the night.  I am still working on socks as well, I cannot help knitting socks. I guess I am addicted.

This one will definitly be completed as I do love the colours
but will not likely will be used for the pattern pictures.
I guess Callum will luck out again.

Making Progress

I am now working on the Left Shoulder Panel.  Neckband, Centre Back Panel, and Right Shoulder Panel are completed and  I have written the pattern to the end of the Centre Back Panel and will complete the writing of the Shoulder Panels next.  I have worked out all the numbers for the Yoke and Body sections, next I will figure out the Sleeve Stitches and the decreases down the arms.  This pullover will be in six sizes, 2 - 12 years.   I intend to get this done fairly quickly so I can move on to the next one.

Any ideas what I should do next???? Please comment.

Artisan Tour Over - Now I am Back on Track

Yes it is fun to take part in an Artisan Tour but it is even nicer to get back to designing for Babies and More.

On my plate is a Multidirectional Pullover for size 2 to 12.  There will be a comfortable neckline and then the pullover will be worked in many directions.  There will be no SEWING!

Today I am working on the numbers in my spreadsheet and just got the Neckband on the needle:

By Tomorrow the Neckband will be complete and the numbers calulated, I Hope!

Mittens for Babies and Toddlers

Mittens, Three Sizes
These mittens are worked in worsted weight yarn on slightly smaller needles to make the stitches tighter to help keep the hands warm.  The smallest size mittens are  thumbless and on a string to keep them from getting lost when the Baby takes them off.

19th Annual Christmas Artisan Tour 2012

Time is flying by, the Artisan Tour will be up and running before I know it.  The dates are Nov 9th and 10th, 2012.  It is held at 4 locations in Oro Medonte.  It is amazing how soon that will be.  I have already begun to get my stock in order for the show.  I also just finished a Pretty Little Preemie Cardigan and Hat.  The pattern is available on Patternfish.  The Buttons still need to be selected and sewn on, I just have scrap yarn holding the buttonbands together at present.  I need to go shopping for pretty little preemie style buttons.

This sample is the largest Preemie Size would also fit a small full term newborn.
Worked in Bernat Jr. Jacquards
I love how the self patterning yarn works for small garments.

MommaBearKnits forever and a day.

17 July, 2012

It is soooooooo hot here in Orillia that I cannot tackle a big project, but I also cannot resist my needles and string.  I searched my stash, found left over sock yarn, picked up my double points and started baby socks.  They work up real fast so now I have to search some more:

Winter Will Come

Knitting Kook?

I have finally accepted being called a Knitting Kook.  That is what my daughter, Dawn calls me.  It is 31 degrees Celsius here in Orillia and has been very hot over the past few weeks.  I have been working on my designs and knitting a Callum KAL in the heat.  But the truth is, I have also been knitting wool socks in this weather.  I just ended the yarn ends on the fourth pair that I knit during the last 4-5 weeks.  These are for me to keep my tootsies warm in the winter, when the cold weather sets in.  They are all knit in yarn from my stash, after all I have to reduce my stash so that I can buy more yarn for my stash.  The two coloured  pair are knit from leftover ends of yarn that was used for other socks, I cannot throw out even a small leftover ball of sock yarn.

I love knitting socks!
I am a Kook!!! but I love it.  MommaBearKnits.

KAL is finished

Callum sizse 3 is finished.
I have finished Callum KAL; my sample anyway, hope others are progressing well too.  Next I am going to design a similar pattern for Children, I think it will be size 4, 6, 8, 10 & 12.  Keep watching, because MommaBearKnits & Designs for Children too.
