Baby Sweater

I am working on a baby sweater pattern. Perhaps matching hat, leggings, mittens, booties, socks who knows what will come out of this work in progess. Last year I was very proud, as I always am, to be included as a designer with Cabin Fever the Knitting Sisters ( http://www.cabinfever.ca/ and http://cabinfeverknittingdesigns.blogspot.com/ ).

Deb, Dana and myself each created a baby blanket and all three were published as one pattern (Three Baby Blankets #801). My contribution was a reversible twisted stitch blanket. We discussed over dinner one night that we should each create a matching baby garment pattern to match our blankets. That was some time ago but now I have the urge to do it. I am using stash yarn (DK Marble) to work out the kinks. The first(of several no doubt) sample is in a three month size. See my progess in the pictures. I am also working the blanket as well, as, I do have a niece expecting a baby and it will be put to loving use I am sure. My youngest grandchild is 13 now so it has been a while since a new baby has arrived in my immediate family.

P. S. Please leave a comment and vote in my poll. I personally love fingering the best but usually work in DK as it is more practical.

BACK ON TRACK

I am finished the Crazy 8's (socks) as posted earlier and now I am working on a sort of normal pair of socks. I love the self patterning yarn and because the nicest brands can be very expensive I like to make use of every metre/yard of it. I usually mix in some equal quality but plain (cheaper) yarn to make one 100 gr. ball shine in two pairs of socks. This pair is using the left overs from another pair that also used plain yarn for the sole of them. Of course I do not have real big feet either. This would not work for men's larger socks. I don't know how I can find time to wear them all but hey----life is good and my feet are warm.

Last Night We Partied Today We Rest.

Happy New Year to all you beloved Grandpets, especially the Bugle Beagles that are as lucky as me. Who says a beagle must be a Hound Dog, I say, we have every right to be an ottoman potato. I lay here when Gramma knits in her chair behind me. I also serve by contributing a small/or large sample of dog hair into each and every project. Life is good, Thanks SPCA for allowing my adoption. We have been together for almost two years now and life is good. The old folks are a little boring, but, the kisses are unbeleivable and hugs galore.
Happy New Year to you all.

This is all about Me Today

I have been home on a Christmas/New Year's break since Friday December 21. I go back to work Wednesday January 2, 2008. Wow! Happy New Year to you all, out there in cyberworld. I walked the Bugle Beagle each and every day. Today is special, it is my birthday, I am 64 and loving it. I have been knitting, walking, resting, hosting Christmas Dinner for my Mother-in-law Mary Vollick, (95 1/2 years old and still being fiesty) my Son, Daughter-in-law and Granddaughter Samantha. We all Love Mary and admire her and value our time we have with her. I have a daughter, fondly referred to as BabyBear, granddaughter Sarah and grandson Cameron, they live in Ottawa. We will visit Ottawa in the new year. Tonight we are having a decadent dinner, Lobster, Shrimp, Garlic Bread and lots of Garlic butter to dip the treats in. And to top it off, a glass, or two, of my brother's homemade wine --- Rhubarb and Raspberry. How good is that. The best part is that Jerry (husband) will be the cook. No driving, no tipping, no credit card bills for a dinner out, life is good. Early to bed, early to rise and again walk the bugle beagle and avoid fat for some time to make up for this birthday dinner.

And as alway MommaBear will still knit into Retirement.

See my Christmas Cactus --- I love it ----

Crazy Socks on the Home Stretch:

I am working on the cuff of the final crazy sock project. I did expect to get 7 socks but am pleased to say --- number 8 is being finished off as you read this blog (I hope someone reads this blog). So, Deb, I need another calculation. How many pairs do I get from 8 mismatched socks? As in the past, and long into the future,

New to Blogspot

Hi everyone, this is my first posting on my blog called "MommaBearKnits2". I just want to say I am glad to be here and proud to be a knitting kook. Right now I am in a sock mode, that will change, but for now here I sit with Rusty the Cruster Ruster. He is my beloved grandpet. Besides knitting, I work full time, walk the Ruster Cruster each and every morning, rain or shine. Share my life with my husband of 44 1/2 years, and above all love my son and daughter and their families which include three teenage grandchildren. I live in Canada and right now we are having a rain storm, can you believe it, we were inundated with snow for the last week and now it is pouring rain, green Christmas, maybe.
