Moving Right Along - - - - -

First of all - Lets get finished.
Yesteday I took my Hoodie to show off to the Cabin Fever Sisters.  I think they liked her.  While I was there, we chose buttons for Hoodie.
I will sew on the buttons and then off she goes to shine in the whole wide world.
Whew! One down and many many more to go!

This is a pullover, size 2 that I just finished.
No pattern, just basic pullover for my stock.

Oh yeah, Deb and I travelled north the visit Dana ---- more knitting and designing talk.
Great visit, how could it not be great, we talked knitting, designing, and of course, enjoyed seeing Dana's Granddaughter, she is so cute. All the way to Huntsville I knit on another pullover for my stock and  pehaps it will be a future pattern.
 - - - - NEXT! - - - -

We have reached the point of test knitting each other's work.
Deb is knitting Dana's;
Dana is knitting my Hoodie;
 I am knitting Deb's A-Line Cardigan
I have pulled out the required needle; I have the first draft of the pattern; I have wound the first ball of yarn, poured myself a cup of tea.  Now my passion can blossom.  I will keep you all up to date.
Remember, MommaBear won't go anywhere without her needles and string.
Hear that, you Knitting God, You!

Mommy, It's all Over!

Just need to choose suitable buttons and then I am off to a great adventure:

MommaBear has a problem, she cannot photograph me without showing my back.  I think she likes it.

HOODIE MAKES A COMMENT!

MommaBear went out for dinner tonight and when she got home she turned me over.  Awwwww that feels good, my back was crying out for recognition.
I will have a good night's sleep and tomorrow perhaps I can get up and shine.
- Hoodie

HOODIE HAS MOVED ON TO THE NEXT STEP

Getting Ready to Present herself.  (I refer to my hoodie as a girl, as she really is a girl's style)

Step 1:  A relaxing 1/2 hour warm soak;
Step 2: Hugged in a warm towel, a couple of times.  (No picture, who wants to see a wrapped up towel.

Step 3: Awwwwwww, stretched out on a towel in a warm room to dry.  Feels good!!!

The pattern is in the hands of my knitting guru, Deb for editing and hopefully she will like it.  I must admit, the hardest thing for me is to pass off my babies (patterns) to someone else to go over them with a fine tooth comb, I love them too much and finding flaws is painful. Just kidding Deb, you are kind to me.
The drying will take a while, so in the meantime, MommaBear has not been idle.
- - - not an "Idol" either - - -

Using up leftover's, above is a size 6 Months Pullover in Cabin Fever Cotton Tweed.  Like Deb, I am fooling around with working a different neckline for the top down projects.  And I will add this sweater to my stock for my next craft show or sales opportunity; or, gift it because this week we aquired yet another great nephew, a 5 1/2 pound bundle of joy, hope to see him soon and with our new brother-in-law there comes a whole new set of nephews (no nieces) and guess what, there will soon be another grand niece/nephew from that side of our extended family.  Oh, boy will I enjoy gifting the new arrivals.
This one is also knit in Cabin Fever Cotton Tweed DK and is size 12 months.  Same idea, little different neckline.  My hope is to work a neckline kind of like my Hoodie Bear and Huggy Bear patterns but without the collar being necessary.  I think I am making progress, but in the meantime I am just knitting along, for the joy of it.  Oh yeah, I am now working on another pullover in a size 2, I had a request for that size and when I checked my stock, size 2 was not too plentiful as a large number of toddler sizes sold at the November show.  I cannot stop knitting, that can't be bad, right?

Keep on Knitting, MommaBear Will knit until her Knitting God comes to take her home and assures her that needles and string are welcome on the other side, if not she will not go!!!!!

29 January, 2010

19 Days since my last Post, That is bad!!!

I have been in a hiatus for the last two plus weeks.  But, Deb don't worry, I am still knitting, and trying to write this pattern out so that you can get through it.  That is not easy, but I am now on the home stretch.

As always it is real easy to knit out of your head, but making it a written out pattern is the challenge.  But, MommaBear can do it if you push her hard enough, right Deb?
I have also been knitting socks, socks, socks.  Just because I needed a break.  Over the last two weeks my Mother in Law has been in a poor state of health, understandable as she is approaching her 98th Birthday.  But, she is pretty tough and seems to be improving.  She is a resident in LeisureWorld Orillia and they are very good to her.  PoppaBear is the main family caregiver and it has been stressful for him as he is in constant pain with a bad back, knees, hips and bad arthritis.  Getting old is not always fun.  But MommaBearKnits on into the night and it gives her coping capabilites.

Progress Report

First and foremost,  Hoodie Progress

I have written the pattern to the top of the hood.  So, it won't take long to knit the hood.  The neckline is done and I am right at it.

Of course, I also knit several hats since the last posting.

I, actually worked on four and finished three of them, but one was tried on by my granddaughter, Sammie, while she was visiting this weekend and surprise, surprise, it went home to Washago, no picture, but a very warm head will be going on the school bus tomorrow morning.  Now I have one more to finish, and of course more to start.

While I was visiting http://cabinfeverknittingdesigns.blogspot.com/ I saw that Deb was bragging, or, venting  about her supply of needles.  Since she decided to show you hers, I decided to show you mine.

PROGRESS REPORT

Teen Hoodie Centre Back Panel
I have completed 5 repeats of the 16 row centre panel pattern- 80 rows, very easy repeat pattern
The yarn feels great to work with (Cabin Fever Cottage Colours, 100% Wool).  Soon I will start the front side panels.  Looking good if I do say so myself, after all it is my right to brag - Right?
MommaBearKnits-on & on & on-into the future.  Have a great New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

Christmas is Over for 2009 - Back on Track Moving on into 2010

Finishing up some projects:

These are 100% Wool (ends left over from other projects) Mittens.  Trust me they both are the same.  I knit the hand part twice, placed one inside the other and then worked a single cuff.  Now I have very warm reversible mittens - Very Warm.

Of course I have socks in progress.  Socks are always on my sticks.

Now A New Project is Coming!!!!!

I could not wait to tell everyone that I have started the pattern sample for the Tween Hoodie.  I am sooooooo anxious that I took a picture of the cast on-- I have yet to knit Row 1.  Deb, Dana and I met before Christmas and now we are all on a tight schedule to complete each of our own individual patterns.  Keep in touch, I will be updating my progress.

It's Winter in "(frozen) Lake Country"

Yes it's finally winter in Central Ontario.  But I am OK, lots of stash, lots of needles and a lazy boy chair draped with a warm afghan.  What else does MommaBear need.

I am working on a few projects and some are finished - just need to end the tails, Yuck.
Sweater is size 18 months- just for my stock and the socks are knit with Berroco Sox Metallic.  They fit me but will likely be a gift for someone, not sure who.

My main project right now is the teen hoodie.  I have the design in my head but must work it out so that the pattern can be understandable.  The first try is knit with a back panel and the two front panels worked down from the shoulder.  Then the sides are worked out from the sides, and the front band and hood will be done last.  I have already decided to do the back panel, bottom up, then the two front panels bottom up as well and joined at the shoulder.  Of course there will be no sewing, I will use 3-needle cast-off to join them.
Until next time MommaBearKnits on into the night.

And, of course, I have another pair of socks, just for the mindless knitting periods in my day.  This pair is Bamboo yarn from my stash.
